Over intersession CUIT upgraded the Butler Libary network on the second and third floors of the library to improve reliability, security and performance for both staff and public computing. Each network jack was upgraded from 10BaseT to 1000BaseT, and connectivity for wireless access points was improved as well.

This effort was part of the campus capital project to upgrade network electronics on the Morningside campus.
