Getting Your Bearings

Rare Book & Manuscript Library, 6th floor EastIf you’re a graduate student in history or the humanities, you may wish to attend one of our "Getting Your Bearings" orientations, designed to help you begin using the powerful information tools at your disposal and to point you to some of the most important library services and personnel at Butler Library and elsewhere on campus.

The sessions begin with a 30 to 40-minute tour of the key Butler Library locations for graduate researchers.  The second half, an orientation to the information system of the Libraries, covers much the same ground as did the session in Schermerhorn on Tuesday, so if you attended that meeting, you may simply want to take the tour.

To attend, just select any one of the times below and come to the reference desk in 301 Butler (one flight up from the lobby) at the start of the session.

Wednesday, August 31    11:00 a.m. or 3:00 p.m.
Thursday, September 1    1 p.m.
Friday, September 2         11 a.m.
Tuesday, September 6      10:00 a.m.
