As part of this week’s Cinema China, Culture China festival, a Shanghai Paper-cutting Art Exhibition and daily performances by paper-cutting artists will be held on the third floor of Butler Library.

The exhibition opens on Monday, October 17th and will remain on view through December.

Performances by Paper-cutting artists Xi Xiaoqin and Shi Qinling will take place daily from October 17th-October 21st at 10am-11am and 3:00-5:00 pm.

The festival also commemorates the donation of a major collection of Chinese DVDs from Beauty Media Inc. to the C.V. Starr East Asian Library [Columbia University Libraries Press Release ], a gift that transforms the Chinese film collection at Columbia University Libraries into the largest in the world of research libraries and further strengthens the more than 100-year-old relationship between Columbia University Libraries and China.
