TSAD is running a number of project activities in all areas right now. In SAS, we are 99% finished with entering the cancellation notes into the Voyager records. Next we will turn to updating the “place-holder” records that were placed into Voyager for the new online only orders. Both Avery & Business are updating their own holdings. We’ll be meeting with both to discuss how well this has gone and how best to open this up for others.
In MAS, we continue to process the order and receipts as they arrive. With the exception of the material that was pulled out of Lehman Library, there are no backlogs within MAS. In Acquisitions Accounting, we have hired a new/old staff member, Valery Kazakov. Valery will join us effective March 1st and will be working on vendor statements and some serials claiming, as well as learning the AP/CAR system.
In Shipping, the new mail handling machine was received and is in operation. The staff are delighted with it. In general, the ReCAP deliveries and the Ubiquitous returns are moving well. The weather has been good to us as well. There’s been very little snow & ice to slow down deliveries and pick-ups.
NER is trying to provide better access to the usages statistics we’ve collected. Expect information about this elsewhere in the blog.
Along with our counterparts, TSAD has been heavily engaged in Strategic Planning. We’re looking forward to the next steps in the process.
There are some new tools under development to assist staff in submitting reports. The first of these is the Serials Online Reporting Form (SORF). This is on the TSAD webpage under Forms, Working Tools & Links. (https://www1.columbia.edu/sec/cu/libraries/staffweb/units/tsad/working_tools.html) Expect the new online order form for one-time purchases in the near future.
