In Fall of 2009 “Kindlers Literatur Lexikon” appears in a third, fully revised and enlarged edition which offers a comprehensive presentation of the most significant literary works of all times, all regions, and all cultures world wide. With the third edition, covering 13,000 important works of world literature from the earliest writings of mankind to the present, it makes its way into a new century, embracing History of Civilization. In this new edition literatures of Africa and Asia are heavily represented as well as the Indian and Eastern European literature.
In the course of the revision, added content will be developed, including:
- Brief biographical information on all authors
- Breakdown of the works of an author in chronological order
- Other special articles on the various groups of works by an author such as novels, poetry and drama.
Its advantage over the print edition is obvious: the content will be regularly updated, for example in relation to the death dates, important literary prizes, new works, new articles, and updated bibliographies. The whole world of the literary works in a book, more precisely, in 18 volumes available is just with one click.
