Scan & Delivery Service

Need a book chapter or article from Columbia Libraries' print collections?

Scan & Deliver: Electronic Document Delivery enables you to request electronic delivery of articles and book chapters from the general print collections of many of Columbia's Libraries. The service is available for book chapters and articles in the general print collections, with some exceptions.

To place a request:

1) Run a CLIO search for the book or journal you're looking for.

2) Choose the exact item you'd like from the results page

3) In the "Available from" menu on the item page, choose "Scan & Deliver"

4)  Follow the instructions and submit your request.

Faculty Document Delivery Service

Full-time faculty from the Columbia Morningside campus, Barnard, and Union Theological Seminary now can request electronic delivery of journal articles and book chapters from the general print collections on Morningside campus.

Search E-Journals Using Abbreviations

Want to look up Columbia holdings for an e-journal by its abbreviation?  Find a citation with a journal abbreviation, like JAMA or NEJM or JMCQ, but have no idea what the full title is? 

Use Columbia’s E-Journals search by title, using just the abbreviation, and get the full title plus direct links!


Web of Knowledge

Try the Web of Knowledge database.

A citation database with multidisciplinary coverage of over 10,000 high-impact journals in the sciences, social sciences, and arts and humanities, as well as international proceedings coverage for over 120,000 conferences. It is very useful for cited references searches.

It also provides Journal Citation Reports to help critically evaluate the world’s leading journals

  • Delivers quantifiable statistical information based on citation data
  • Helps determine a publication’s impact and influence in the global research community
  • Includes journal and category data
