Kathleen Dreyer recognized for achievement in academic business librarianship

Kathleen Dreyer has received the first Achievement in Academic Business Librarianship Award, administered through the Business & Finance Division of the Special Libraries Association (SLA).

The inaugural award was presented to Dreyer, at the 2008 Special Libraries Association Annual Conference in Seattle, Washington. The award recognizes the accomplishments of librarians who are new to the field of academic business librarianship. “It is an honor to be the first recipient of the Achievement in Academic Business Librarianship Award,” said Dreyer.

Dreyer is the Head of Columbia’s Watson Library of Business and Economics. In addition to providing reference assistance to students and faculty, Dreyer oversees the collections and staff of the library. Before coming to Columbia, Dreyer was a reference librarian at the Lippincott Library at the University of Pennsylvania and a collections assistant at the Jack Brause Library at New York University. Dreyer holds a Master of Science in Library and Information Science from Drexel University.
