A team from the Rare Book & Manuscript Library recently won first place in the Smith Annual Pimp My Bookcart competition. Check it out: http://www.unshelved.com/PimpMyBookcart/2008/
Said Iwalani Wall, “I’m so proud! The students involved were Ben Heller (CC ’09), Nate Trunnell (CC ’10), Darragh Martin (Theater, PHD candidate CU), Andrea Vazquez (MA School of Arts and Sciences CU), and Evan Roth (CC ’11). Eric Sommer from Preservation also helped. Note that they beat out a fire truck made with actual working parts! This was all done with a $50 budget, an ancient and barely functioning wooden bookcart from RBML, and my beach umbrella. They built it in Ben Heller’s dorm room over a weekend. And now RBML wins a brand new book cart.”
