The Samuel H. Kress Foundation has contributed $9,000 towards the Avery Library’s publication of the forthcoming Catalogue of the Andrew Alpern Collection of Drawing Instruments, which contains 18th to 20th century drawing instruments that span over 250 years of architectural craftsmanship. The collection was assembled gradually over 40 years as an outgrowth of the architectural studies and practice of Andrew Alpern.
