Mellon Supports Columbia and Cornell Partnership

The Columbia University Libraries has been awarded $385,000 from the Mellon Foundation to lay the groundwork for a new collaboration with Cornell University Library. The collaboration envisaged is a major departure from conventional partnerships in that it seeks to integrate 30% of operations, resources, services, and collections within the initial timeframe.  Dubbed “2CUL,” this partnership will leverage the strengths in each organization while reducing redundancies and inefficiencies.
