Columbia University Libraries hosts a regular schedule of workshops on topics related to podcasting and podcasts as academic scholarship. In Fall 2020, the following workshops are available:

October 9 | How to Write for the Ear

Learn to use the open source software Audacity to create podcasts.

October 30 | Sound Editing with Audacity

Learn to use the open source software Audacity to create podcasts.

November 6 | Publish Your Podcast

Learn about RSS feeds, podcast directories, podcast websites and how they can help you share your podcast with listeners. This workshop will also consider how to make your podcast discoverable and citable as a scholarly object.

November 13 | Sound Editing with Audacity

Learn to use the open source software Audacity to create podcasts.

November 16 | Using Media in Podcasting

If you’ve ever gotten hold of a song or audio clip and wondered, “Can I use this in my podcast?” this workshop is for you. Learn best practices for ascertaining whether a sound recording is in copyright and under what conditions we can reuse and transform others’ audio works.
