The RBML was saddened to learn that radio pioneer Bob Fass died on Saturday the 24th of April, 2021. In 2016, our former director Sean Quimby spearheaded the acquisition of Bob’s papers and recordings, and over the next few years our archivists processed the material. There are some wonderful photos and printed items, but the heart of the collection is the audio recordings. We’ve sorted thousands of reel-to-reel tapes, and are well on the way to completing digitization. The vast, protean, sui generis body of work that is the Radio Unnameable archives is a truly unique resource, and will be consulted by scholars, historians, and fans for decades to come.
