Columbia faculty, students, and staff who want to publish in open-access journals but don’t have funding to cover article-processing fees have a new option. The Columbia Open-Access Publication (COAP) Fund will reimburse reasonable article-processing fees for peer-reviewed articles published in open-access scholarly journals when funding is not otherwise available.
The Fund will reimburse up to $3,000 per article. If an article has multiple authors, each Columbia author can apply for a prorated portion of the article-processing fee.
Eligible journals must provide immediate open access to all their peer-reviewed content. Hybrid and delayed models of open access are not eligible. View the Fund guidelines and access the application form on the Scholarly Communication Program website.
