Columbia University Libraries Expands Book Pick-up Service

Update: As of August 10, the Libraries further expanded its Book Pick-up Service to also include materials from the Health Sciences Library (to be picked up from the Health Sciences Library) and select, newly-circulating items from Avery Architectural & Fine Arts Library (picked up from the plaza-level rear exit of Avery Hall).

The Libraries also resumed delivery of materials from certain offsite collections held at ReCAP, the Libraries’ offsite shelving facility. Offsite items that are eligible for delivery will have a “Pick-up” link in CLIO and can be retrieved from Butler Library.

As of July 29, the Libraries greatly expanded the list of collections that are now eligible for its Book Pick-up Service. The Libraries launched the service on July 15, allowing users to place pick-up requests from CLIO, the Libraries’ online catalog, for select circulating materials in the Butler Library stacks. As of this week, users can now place pick-up requests for circulating materials from the following libraries:

Burke (Union Theological Seminary)

Business & Economics

Journalism

Lehman (Social Sciences)

Math

Music

Science & Engineering

Social Work

Starr East Asian

Eligible materials from Butler Library also now include graphic novels, items from the Milstein Undergraduate Library, and DVDs.

Items eligible for pick-up display a “Pick-up” link in CLIO. Items from all locations can be retrieved from the Butler Library pick-up table on the Butler plaza, with the exception of items from the Burke Library, which can be picked up at the Burke Library. Users will receive an email notification when their item is ready for pick up, which will direct them to the appropriate location.

Additional information regarding the Libraries’ recovery and reopening efforts are available on the Library Status Updates page.
