Five Ways to Get Started at the Libraries This Summer

Columbia University Libraries is thrilled to welcome students to campus this summer! Whether you’re returning to campus or arriving for the first time, we’re here to support you. Here are five easy ways to get started at the Libraries:

  1. Browse Collections
Access millions of our collections online through CLIO. To request scans of print materials, look for the “Scan” link in the item record.
  2. Connect with an Expert
Consult with a subject specialist, copy-right expert, data specialist, and more via email, phone, or Zoom, or chat. You can also ask general questions about how to use the libraries.
  3. Attend a Workshop
Build skills in everything from research methods to specialty software through virtual workshops with our experts.
  4. Learn about the Research Process
Take our six-module mini course, “From Books to Bytes: Navigating the Research Ecosystem,” to learn how to plan and execute research.
  5. Explore Services & Tools
Find research guides, digital collections, citation management help, software and databases, and more.

On campus, you can also book a study seat in one of six library spaces and reserve a book for pick-up. We can’t wait to work with you. Ask us for help anytime. We are your library.
