CQ Upgrade Schedule & Open Sessions

We are continuing to work on upgrading from Adobe CQ 5.4 to Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) 5.6.1! Thanks to those who helped us test last week. The Content Freeze is next week, so please note the dates that CQ will not be available for changes and updates.

28 – 31 January

  • Content Freeze beginning at 5:00 pm 28 January
  • Content Freeze ends at 10:30 am 31 January
  • Perform the upgrade
  • Continue to develop and update documentation

Beginning the following week, we will host several open sessions to orient you to the upgraded system. These will be held in 306 Butler and will be first come, first served. If they over-fill, we will host more. I also am scheduling a full AEM/CQ Training Session between the 6th and the 12th of February (exact date and time will be announced ASAP).

AEM/CQ 5.6.1 Orientation Sessions

  • 3 February 2014 from 3:30 – 5:00 (Butler 306)
  • 4 February 2014 from 2:00 – 3:30 (Butler 306)
  • 5 February 2014 from 10:30 – 12:00 (Butler 306)

Please note: if you are comfortable using CQ, you may not need the orientation. Watch for updates over the next week!

For the many who have responded asking if another Working with Subject & Courseworks Guides in CQ will be offered, the answer is yes! One is being scheduled for February, along with other sessions covering specific aspects of creating and working with website content. The schedule for trainings will be sent out next week.

CQ Upgrade Work Continues

The Web CMS upgrade to the latest version of CQ is ongoing.  We’ve overcome some unexpected technical difficulties, and now expect to have the system back online sometime on Friday.  We will send an email when the upgrade is complete and it’s safe to login.

The upgrade brings important changes to the underlying architecture of the software and our development environment, which will increase our ability to implement new features and add new capabilities to our websites.  Some improvements will be available immediately, and we’ll be highlighting those enhancements for contributors in a series of emails and blog posts in the coming days.

CQ Upgrade and Outage!

CQ is NOT available.  From today through Thursday, we will be upgrading our version of CQ. We hope to complete the update on Thursday morning, January 19.  Please do not attempt to use the system until you receive a confirmation email stating that the upgrade is complete.

We will send out follow-up messages and blog posts outlining the changes you’ll see in the new version.

Thank you for your cooperation.
