University closings on Friday, January 3

Due to inclement weather the Columbia Libraries will be closed on Friday, January 3.

Please consult the University’s winter storm website for more details about closings across campus.

Many libraries are already scheduled to be closed over the weekend as part of shortened hours during intersession.

Changes to the Libraries’ website and CLIO!

On Monday, June 3, the Libraries’ will be launching a new version of CLIO and the Libraries website.

The new version of CLIO – CLIOBeta - is now available for use via the Libraries homepage, http://cliobeta.columbia.edu/.   CLIObeta has greater flexibility in subject searching, as elements of the record can be searched and combined in a variety of ways.

Your access to the Columbia libraries continues after you graduate!

Access to our licensed electronic databases continues for a period of three months beyond the degree conferral date. After this period the Libraries provide alumni with remote access to a small set of databases.  See the Libraries’ Alumni and Friends website for a list.

Recent alumni may use libraries spaces for a period of thirty days after the date of graduation using their student ID cards. After thirty days, alumni must obtain an alumni card in the Library Information Office in Room 201 of Butler Library.

Faculty document delivery service is now available!

Full-time faculty from the Columbia Morningside campus, Barnard, and Union Theological Seminary now can request electronic delivery of journal articles and book chapters from the general print collections on Morningside campus.

    Access Columbia University Library’s catalog from your mobile device.
  • EBSCO iphone/android apps
    The iphone and android apps provide access to all 90 databases on the Ebsco platform.  Two relevant business and economics databases from EBSCO are Business Source Complete and EconLit with Full Text.
  • JSTOR
    With more than a thousand academic journals and over 1 million images, letters, and other primary sources, JSTOR is one of the world’s most trusted sources for academic content.
