-You can use Flex Account to pay for photocopying in the Libraries. Fr more information on Flex Accounts, please check the Flex Accounts FAQ.
–Check the balance of your Flex Account or Flex Card use the Flex Value Transfer Station (VTS) vending machines located library west (near photocopy machines) and follow the instructions:
Select Check Account Balance from the menu.
You will receive the following prompt:
WOULD YOU LIKE A RECEIPT? YES/NO
Press the button indicating Yes or No (Always say YES)
You will receive the following prompt:
PLEASE SWIPE CARD.
Swipe your Columbia University ID Card or Flex Card in the slot, magnetic stripe to the right.
Students will see Flex Account and Dining Dollars Account balances. All other cardholders will see the Flex balance, only.
To complete the process, press the exit button.
To purchase or refill a Flex Card: There is a $1.00, one-time purchase fee for Flex Cards and You can deposit funds in increments of $5.
Go to a VTS vending machine and follow the steps below carefully. Be sure to get a receipt!!!!
-Swipe your Flex Card,
-Select Flex Card Purchase from the menu.You will receive the following prompt:
WOULD YOU LIKE A RECIEPT? YES/NO (We strongly recommend obtaining a receipt: Press the button indicating Yes).
– Insert the bill. Insert cash in increments of $5, $10 or $20 bills. (No change is dispensed). All cash deposited is credited toward the Flex Card, less the $1 card purchase fee.
-When all bills have been inserted, press the indicated button.
-When the transaction is complete, you will receive the following prompt:
AFTER THE CARD IS DISPENSED, IT MUST BE SWIPED TO ACTIVATE, PRESS HERE TO DISPENSE CARD.
Press the indicated button and wait for the Flex Card to be dispensed.
IMPORTANT: If you do not press the button within 10 seconds, the transaction will be canceled and your money will not be refunded.
After the card is dispensed, swipe the card to finalize the deposit: swipe the Flex Card in the slot, magnetic stripe to the right.
The Flex Card is ready for use. Its value will be equal to the amount deposited less the $1 purchase fee for the card. A receipt will be printed if you requested one.
