Mellon Supports Mapping Gothic France

The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation awarded Columbia’s Art History and Archaeology Department a grant of $696,000 to place the great monuments of twelfth-to-thirteenth century France on an interactive map via a geographic information system. Users will be able to correlate the spatial and temporal links between the emergence of France and the production of Gothic architecture.

The Libraries Digital Programs Division and the Center for Digital Research and Scholarship will contribute to the project.
