Poetry Reading at the Burke Theological Library with Eleanor Johnson

The Burke Theological Library will host poet and Columbia professor Eleanor Johnson, reading from her new book of poetry, Her Many Feathered Bones

Her Many Feathered Bones is a collaborative experiment in slow dialogue. Wishing to integrate visual and verbal art in a way that would privilege neither form over the other, Dr. Johnson began this project with a small number of drawings and a single poem; the drawings generated several new poems and six new drawings. Her Many Feathered Bones is a romance, a collection of love songs between visuality and sound, between shapes and words, between graphic space and lyrical time.

Thursday, April 15th, 5-6pm
