How to Use the Libraries as an Alum (Plus, New Databases!)

Alumni of Columbia University enjoy free lifetime access to library facilities. It’s this simple:

  1. Visit the Library Information Office during business hours to get your alumni ID card.
  2. Visit any library location with your ID during open hours*.
  3. Want to borrow books? Purchase borrowing privileges for $30 per month at the Library Information Office.

Alumni also have free off-campus access to dozens of journals and databases such as JSTOR, PubMed Central, and more. Here’s the full list – make sure to log in through the links on this portal. We just added four new ones to this list: Company of Biologists Journals, Nikkei Asia, Risk.net, and MIT Press Books and Journals.
