There are six flat-bed scanners in Lehman library. One, with automatic document feeder for up to 12″ x 18″ material, is located in the Data Service in room 215.The five others are for 8.5″ x 11″ material and are located in the DSSC. Four of which are stand alone scanners, i.e for scanning only. The fifth is attached to a public workstation.
There is also one large-format sheet-fed scanner in the Data Service. The Colortrac 5480e scanner has been acquired for digitizing maps and other large-format single sheet material.

The Manhattan Research Library Initiative (MaRLI), enables Columbia doctoral students and full-time faculty to borrow research materials from New York University Libraries and New York Public Library. Need a book chapter or article from Columbia Libraries' print collections?
Scan & Deliver: Electronic Document Delivery enables you to request electronic delivery of articles and book chapters from the general print collections of many of Columbia's Libraries. The service is available for book chapters and articles in the general print collections, with some exceptions.
To place a request:
1) Run a CLIO search for the book or journal you're looking for.
2) Choose the exact item you'd like from the results page
3) In the "Available from" menu on the item page, choose "Scan & Deliver"
4) Follow the instructions and submit your request.

Please welcome Ashley Jester, the new Data Services Coordinator in the Social Sciences Libraries! Ashley holds a PhD from Stanford in Political Science with advanced specializations in international relations, organizational behavior, and political economy. She's here to assist you with your research, from the initial steps of background research and finding data to analysis and interpretation of data. She's great with Excel, STATA, SPSS, R, and you can find her staffing the reference desks at the Digital Social Science Center (DSSC) and Data Services in Lehman Library.
