First Anniversary of Miwa Kai’s passing

Today, December 10, marks the one-year anniversary of the passing of Ms. Miwa Kai.

In her honor we have placed flowers and her memorial photo at the circulation desk of the C. V. Starr East Asian Library.

We all miss Ms. Kai for her energy, wit, and smile. Since this is the giving time of the year, we would like to remind you of the Miwa Kai Fund her family is establishing in her honor. The following are her family’s remarks on the fund:

“The Kai Family welcomes contributions to the Miwa Kai Fund, which supports the Japanese Collection at the Starr East Asian Library at Columbia that Ms. Miwa Kai dedicated her life to. All donations (in check) should be made payable to The Trustees of Columbia University in the City of New York, with ‘Miwa Kai Fund’ on the memo line, and sent to Columbia University Libraries, Butler Library Room 6M59,  535 West 114th Street, New York, NY 10027.”

It is also possible to wire contributions to this fund through the Wells Fargo Bank.  If you wish to make use of this option, please contact our Japanese Studies Librarian, Sachie Noguchi (212-854-1506) for instructions.
